Criteria & Selection

To receive consideration for the Engineering Department Visits program, you must first officially apply to an engineering Ph.D. program at the University of Michigan for Fall 2010 admission. The application deadline is 12/15/09. Be sure to check with the appropriate department for specific deadlines. Once the application is received, the departmental faculty will review the materials and make decisions for admission and invitations to visit. Students who are invited to the Departmental Visitations program may already be admitted, be in the process of being admitted, or are likely to be admitted. 

Invitations are expected to be sent out anytime from early January through the end of February 2010. Some last minute invitations may be sent in early March 2010 for the second weekend visitation.  Invitations will be sent through email to the address listed on your admission application. Be sure to check your email regularly during that time frame if you have officially applied to the University of Michigan. If we are having difficulty contacting you, we will call the phone numbers listed on your admission application.
