Important Dates and Deadlines
Application deadlines vary among engineering departments and programs, be sure to contact individual departments to find out their specific deadlines.
The Rackham Graduate School online application is available from early August to January 15 for the following Fall term. Engineering departmental deadlines range from December 15 through January 15; although some programs extend deadlines through the Winter and Spring terms. Application deadlines for Professional and Interdisciplinary programs can be found at the Interdisciplinary Programs and Departmental websites. Additionally, some of our engineering departments offer Winter admission. The Winter term at the University of Michigan begins early January and runs through mid to late April.
The best course of action is to always contact individual engineering departments for specific requirements. As long as your official online application is submitted by the deadline then all accompanying materials (transcripts, test scores, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, etc.) can follow. No official admission decisions can be rendered until your application is complete.
