Emeritus Gifts
Engineering Emeritus Classes have a tradition of leaving significant legacy gifts to the College. These may be art works, landscaped sites, scholarship endowments, teaching awards, and so forth. Each year the College suggests several possible gift projects, and the Emeritus class chooses the project that is most suitable for them.
Total gifts from a class can range from $50,000-$500,000. Each class, depending on the project and class size, sets goals. Class members are contacted about participating in the project a year or two before the reunion year and during that year. Each class gift is officially presented to the College during the class Emeritus Recognition Ceremony. Physical gifts are funded within a set timeframe. Contributions to endowments may continue indefinitely with the possibility of eventual funding from estate gifts.
Emeritus gifts with a physical location have class recognition plaques on site. Emeritus endowment gifts are recognized on a plaque in the Robert H. Lurie Engineering Center.
