Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering Building The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering is the academic "hometown" of nearly two-thirds of this country's naval architects. The NAME Building, including the 1977 (Jerome L.) Goldman Wing, accommodates classrooms and office locations for the Department. The NAME model towing tank, America's first and still largest research university-based experimental model basin, along with the model-making shop, remain in the West Engineering Building, now known as West Hall, on Central Campus.
