Gerstacker Building
Made possible by a generous gift from The Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, the Gerstacker Building is a 31,373 gsf addition to the IST High Bay Building that provides research and administrative/office space for the College's rapidly expanding Department of Biomedical Engineering. Basement space in this new addition houses research functions of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The construction project creates contiguous lab space with the Center for Ultrafast Optics which occupies most of the existing High Bay Building and, in so doing, greatly facilitates growing interdisciplinary research efforts in optics, imaging, nanotechnology, biomaterials and tissue engineering.
