CAEN Computing Labs
CAEN administers several Engineering-only computing labs in College of Engineering buildings on North Campus. In addition, CAEN computers can be found throughout the open/campus-wide computing areas in the Duderstadt Center, as well as on Central Campus in the East Quad Residence Hall, the Shapiro Undergraduate Library and the Ross Academic Center.
The majority of computers in "CAEN labs" are dual-boot PC desktops which run both the Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems (which can be selected during reboot). There are also a moderate number of Apple desktop computers running Mac OS X located in the Duderstadt Center. Note: All CAEN computers located in the Duderstadt Center are open to the entire U-M community, and do not require a CAEN computing account for access.
