How to Apply & Application Forms
Students are eligible to apply to the EGL program after:
- completing 2 semesters in the College of Engineering
- declaring an engineering major
Students are encouraged to find out about the program during the first year. Most students apply to EGL during the Fall of their 2nd year.
GPA Requirements
A 3.60 cumulative GPA is required for admission to the program. However, students with at least a 3.55 cumulative GPA are encouraged to apply and arrange an interview with the admissions committee. For admissions, a 3.60 cumulative GPA must be attained by the end of the semester in which the interview took place.
Masters Degree Program Requirements
Admissions to the Master's portion of the program in NOT guaranteed. Students are subject to the same admissions requirements as other Master's degree applicants. Students are asked to state an intended Master's degree in the EGL application process in order to advise them about undergraduate prerequisites for admission to the Master's portion of the program.
Maintenance of Good Standing
If admitted, EGL students will be required to maintain at least a 3.4 GPA.

The EGL Application form is available for download as a fillable pdf form. The Recommendation Form is also available for download as a fillable pdf, in case recommenders would prefer to submit the form electronically. Paper applications and recommendations will also be accepted. NOTE: A new application form was released for 2008, however, students are permitted to use either the new or the old form for the October 10, 2008 deadline.
