Description: We are proud of our long tradition of excellence in both teaching and research. Our department has been educating leaders in the chemical engineering profession for over a century. The department and faculty offer a broad range of research projects that span over all major areas in both traditional chemical engineering (such as fluids, polymers, colloids, reaction engineering, separations, and statistical thermodynamics) and emerging areas (such as DNA sequencing on a chip, gene therapy, metalloprotein drug design, bioinformatics, green chemistry and computational engineering). The faculty and students together are creating new knowledge and pushing the frontiers in these areas.
