2. January 1992-April 1995: Worked with Post Doctoral Research Associate Dr. Byungsik Kang on Large Admissible Perturbation Methods.

 

3. January 1993 - October 1994: Worked with Post Doctoral Research Associate Dr. Chae Whan Rim on Large Admissible Perturbation Methods.

 

4. October 1993 - February 1995: Worked with Research Associate Mr. Vincent Blouin of Elf Acquitaine, Pau, France, on riser mechanics.

 

5. August 1, 1994 - July 31, 1995: Worked with Professor C.M. Larsen, Professor and past Chairman, Marine Technology Division, National University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway.  Larsen visited N.A.&M.E. to work with Bernitsas on offshore mechanics.

 

6. May 1996 - Worked with Post Doctoral Research Associate Dr. Luis Garza-Rios on chaotic dynamics of mooring systems.

 

7. March 1996 - March 1997: Worked with Professor K. Nishimoto of the Naval and Ocean Engineering Department, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Nishimoto visited N.A.&M.E. to work with Bernitsas on mooring dynamics.

 

8. September 1996 - February 1997: Worked with visiting scholar Tarjei Unneland NUST, Trondheim, Norway, on Design of Mooring Systems for FPSO's.

 

9. September 1998 – September 1999: Worked with Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education Dr. Eugeniy Trushliakov of the Ukraine Maritime University, Nikolaev on undergraduate education in naval architecture and marine engineering.

 

10. October 1998 – September 1999: Worked with Dr. Young Hun Kim, Inha University, Korea, on structural redesign of complex structures.

 

11. February 1999 – February 2000: Worked with Associate Professor Celso Pesce, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, on developing: (i) a new laboratory experiment for NA 521 on flow induced vibrations; (ii) a short course in marine riser mechanics; (iii) new deep water mooring configurations.

 

12. August 1998 – March 1999: Worked with visiting scholar Robin Tomren, NUST, Trondheim, Norway, on design of FPSO’s.

 

13. September 1998 – June 1999: Worked with visiting scholar Joao Matsuura, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, on nonlinear dynamics of mooring systems.

 

14. June 1999 – August 1999: Worked with Professor Kyu Nam Cho, Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Hong Ik University, Korea, on structural redesign of complex structures.

 

15. October 1998 - April 2000: Worked with visiting post-doctoral fellow, Younghun Kim, Inha University, Korea, on structural redesign of complex structures.

 

16. August 2000-March 2001; worked with visiting scholar Torgrim Andersen, Trondheim, Norway on mooring dynamics of FPSO’s.

 

17. February 2001-August 2002; worked with Visiting Professor Kyu Nam Cho, Hongik University, Taejon, Korea, on fatigue of offshore structures.

 

18. August 2000-July 2001; worked with Visiting Professor Philippe Rigo, Dept of Naval Architecture, ANAST, Liege, Belgium, on University collaboration in structural design optimization.

 

19. January 2001-June 2002; worked with Professor Ranjith Obeyesekera, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, on “Wave Energy Absorption.” Developed a section for course NA522 on OWC (Oscillating Water Columns).
