Don Trombley is the person who keeps the ChE 460 laboratory running. He has been with the department since 1987. His job is to fabricate, repair and modify the engineering equipment and related devices for the undergraduate instructional labs and in the ChE department. He also must set-up and operate the lab apparatus, including data acquisition and process control devices. Another part of his job is help undergraduate students with equipment use and troubleshooting. For the graduate students, he assists with equipment installation and maintenance.
When not working on equipment he participates in safety-related departmental activities such as maintenance of chemical inventories and safe disposal of hazardous wastes. He is responsible for maintaining the inventory of equipment spare parts and laboratory supplies needed for the daily operation of the undergraduate laboratories. Don has been an amateur radio operator since 1979 and his call is KD8LO. He keeps Brown Industries (ChE 460 Lab) running.
