Flat Charlie traveled to Europe as a technical representative of the FutureGen Alliance with Phillip Imber (BSE '96). Phillip works for E.ON US (part of the German utility E.ON). E.ON US is a member company of the FutureGen Alliance (FG), a DOE/Industrial partnership to build a ‘Near Zero Emissions Coal Fired Power Plant” utilizing integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) technology with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). As a member of the FG technical committee Phillip (and Charlie) went on a due diligence tour of facilities in Europe utilizing and researching similar technologies.
