Group News

  • Oct 2011: We would like to welcome two new members to our research group: Brian Wyvratt and Abdoulaye Djire.
  • Sep 2011: Josh Schaidle has successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis entitled "Carbide and Nitride Based Catalysts for Fischer Tropsch Synthesis". Josh will work as a post-doctoral researcher at National Renewable Energy Lab. Congratulations, Josh!
  • August 2011: Richard Ezike has successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis entitled "Bimetallic Catalysts for NOx Reduction". Richard will continue as a post-doctoral scholar and work on a project to develop catalysts for the Fischer-Tropsch reaction.
  • July 2011: Adam Lausche has successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis entitled "Nanostructured Electrocatalysts for Selective Triglyeride Hydrogenation". Adam will start a post-doc at Stanford University with Professor Jen Norskov. Congratulations, Adam!
  • November 2010: We would like to welcome three new members to our research group: Allison Wilson, Yuan Chen, and Steven Blodgett.
  • August 2010: Neil Schweitzer has successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis entitled "Evaluating the Effect of a Strong Metal-Support Interaction on the Activity of Molybdenum Carbide Supported Platinum Water-Gas Shift Catalysts". Neil has accepted a postdoctoral position at Argonne National Lab.
  • August 2010: Peter Aurora has successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis entitled "Photoelectrochemical Systems for Hydrogen Production". Peter will continue working in our group as a postdoctoral researcher focusing on anode materials for lithium ion batteries
  • July 2010: Josh Schaidle won the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at the Gordon Research Conference on Catalysis
