Purpose

Offering

The Summer School is organized by the Chemical Engineering Division of ASEE and is held every five years.

Purpose

The purpose of the workshop is to disseminate innovative and effective teaching methods to a wide spectrum of chemical engineering undergraduate programs. It is an opportunity to bring new faculty together and make them better educators. The philosophy of program is to discuss experiences that individual dedicated faculty have put extensive time and effort into developing course material for their own personal use in their courses. This workshop provides a vehicle by which these methods and successes can be shared and critiqued by faculty teaching similar courses at other institutions, thereby fostering a continued improvement of the curricular material at all institutions. This workshop promotes this sharing of ideas and continued curricular improvement. The overall program facilities interaction and sharing of ideas between new and established faculty and people from industry. Some of the most fruitful diffusions about undergraduate and graduate education occur during meals and "free time
