Research Program
The primary mission of the Center is to carry out high-quality research in bioremediation and related areas. The research program is extensive, and has a large interdisciplinary flavor due to the Targeted Research Area Collaborations (or TRACs). These TRACs were devised as teams of researchers/research groups, all working on a common overall topic. The research groups can thus share research ideas, data, and other resources, with the opportunity of solving the research problem with more rapidity and depth than individual, separate research projects.

In addition to the TRACs, the Center also participates in a field demonstration project.

The Center also funds projects outside the Thrust Areas funded by the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP).
