The Center provides the philosophical framework, organizational structure, and other resources required to carry out this mission. The Center promotes integrated university-based research programs focused on common sets of objectives, and fosters joint participation of researchers from different disciplines to ensure a rich resource of approaches and perspectives. Collaboration and interaction with industry, government, other academic institutions, and the general public are key elements of the Center's comprehensive program of research, education, and technology transfer.
