To succeed in today's competitive environment, companies need people who are comfortable with various engineering issues, yet are excited by the widening challenges of business. For ambitious and bright students ready to diversify their skills, and for progressive companies dedicated to reinventing themselves, the Tauber Institute for Global Operations is providing perspectives and pathways for students to succeed in the fields of operations, supply chain, and manufacturing.

Simply put, the Institute is about creating superior operations professionals. Created in 1993 as a partnership between industry and the University of Michigan, the Institute is answering the call for a new kind of corporate leader. These leaders must demonstrate an expert ability to guide their companies through diverse changes in business, while still possessing a keen understanding of the technical aspects of a company's operations. The Tauber Institute for Global Operations identifies the best and brightest professionals early on in their careers and provides them with the skills and training they need to become truly outstanding business leaders for tomorrow.

The Institute balances the benefits of a multidisciplinary education with the expertise and insights of industry experience. The Tauber Institute for Global Operations believes that education and industry must evolve together to make complete operations professionals. From the University of Michigan, the Institute draws on the strong resources of its top-ranked College of Engineering and the Ross School of Business to provide a superior multidisciplinary education. And to stay ahead of industry trends and capture key insights from the field, the Institute regularly taps leading executives to serve on its Industry Advisory Board. The Industry Advisory Board meets regularly to provide the Institute with guidance and ensure that its programs are directly applicable to the needs of today's global companies.
