Engage with Faculty

Pick our brains!

Michigan Engineering takes pride in our extensive research activities and facilities. With over 400 faculty members in a host of departments, programs, research centers and labs, we'll help you navigate to the faculty experts who can help answer your specific questions.

Start by searching the U-M Experts Database by concept or free text to find our experts in your areas of interest, then contact our Corporate Relations office for more help.

Such engagements are available on a contract basis and are regulated under the College's Consulting Days Policy.

Licensing Technology

The U-M Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) is the organization responsible for the transfer of University-generated technology to the marketplace. The Corporate Relations Office at the College of Engineering works closely with OTT and will gladly facilitate an introduction and initial meeting for your company as we work to define the details of your engagement with campus.

An initial meeting typically involves an overview of your company's strategic direction and technical needs and interests. From there, the appropriate OTT representative will discuss the process of licensing University-generated technology or intellectual property and the services the office provides for companies, innovators and entrepreneurs.
