Capstone Design and Manufacturing Experience: Projects and Sponsors

Innovative: Projects should allow for  multiple solution ideas.  Sponsors Students do well on new products, one-off manufacturing systems, or mature products where new ideas may make possible a breakthrough.  

Decomposable:  The best projects can be approached in pieces.

Physical:  Paper studies are certainly acceptable, but projects leading physical prototypes are preferred.

Minimal Proprietary Information:  U-M cannot contract to maintain security.  Companies may negotiate IP agreements directly with students, in some cases disclosure agreements can be performed.
