College of Engineering Wireless Network Changes on June 26, 2012
On Tuesday, June 26 there will be several changes in the wireless (Wi-Fi) networks in the College of Engineering that may require Wi-Fi users to modify or add wireless configurations on laptops and other Wi-Fi connected devices.
The following wireless network names (SSIDs) will go away on June 26:
- CAEN
- CAEN Web Access
- MWireless-CAEN
- MGuest-CAEN
The existing campus "MWireless", "UM Wireless Network", and "MGuest" wireless SSIDs will replace them. These SSIDs are available today in Pierpont Commons, Walgreen and Stamps Auditorium on North Campus, as well as most locations on Central Campus. If you do not already have these SSIDs configured on your computer or other devices, visiting one of these locations before June 26 and adding them should minimize disruptions during the changeover.
These wireless network changes are necessary to provide a consistent wireless experience between buildings across campus. For information about connecting to the new wireless networks please see http://www.itcom.itcs.umich.edu/wireless/.
