Introduction to Simulink for Simulation and Model-Based Design
Tuesday, September 29, 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

In this session, we will discuss and demonstrate the basics of applying Model-Based Design methods within the Simulink environment. Simulink is an environment for multi-domain simulation and Model-Based Design for dynamic and embedded systems. It provides an interactive graphical environment and a customizable set of block libraries that let you design, simulate, implement, and test a variety of time-varying systems, including communications, controls, signal processing, video processing, and image processing.

Model-Based Design methods have become widely adopted by industries that design and manufacture products with embedded controls. The amount of embedded content within these "mechatronic" systems will continue to increase for the foreseeable future as additional complexity is added to meet consumer demands and government regulations. Highlights include:

  • The Executable Specification: the model is the specification; the simulation results are the requirements
  • Design with Simulation: save time and money with virtual prototypes
  • Automatic Code Generation: push a button and get production code
  • Rapid Prototyping: get to real-time in no time
  • Continuous verification and testing

Come join us to learn more about how to use these tools and how they are being used in industry!
