The login server dedicated to faculty and staff use, ivory.engin.umich.edu, is being removed from service at the end of September. Changing overall demands on CAEN resources and the adequate availability of login services in the general remote interactive login server pool available at login.engin. umich.edu led to this decision. Given the budgetary constraints facing CAEN, we felt that the resources that would have been required to upgrade and maintain this service would be better used elsewhere, and that discontinuing this service would have only minimal impact on the relatively few faculty and staff members who used ivory.
