All students, staff and faculty are invited to join CAEN, the CAC and Visual Numerics for a seminar to learn how to leverage the IMSL Numerical Libraries to improve application performance. CAEN and the CAC offer the IMSL Library on CAEN workstations and CAC clusters. This promises to be an excellent introduction to using IMSL in our environment.

An important trend in High Performance Computing has been the growth of distributed computing architectures. This seminar will describe and illustrate the IMSL Numerical Libraries' parallel computing features, including the use of OpenMP and MPI. Speakers will provide examples of how to use these features to simplify and speed development. The technical seminar will also show how the IMSL libraries are optimized on specific compilers to leverage other components of the computing environment and improve application performance. We will also briefly discuss the IMSL C Numerical Library as well as the enhancements to the new IMSL Fortran Library version 6.0 (to be released later this year.)
