Hyperthreaded Workstations Now Available!
Many new CAEN and Media Union computers feature the new Intel PentiumŪ 4 processors with Hyper-Threading technology. HyperThreading enables a single physical processor to create a simulated logical processor to run multiple tasks ("threads") at the same time. It allows more efficient processing when running multiple tasks at the same time and is highlighted when several CPU-intense applications are running simultaneously.
HyperThreaded workstations are currently available in the CAEN B085 FXB lab and the Media Union 2 SW (SouthWest) alcove.
