Last summer, CAEN announced a new series of products and services for the support and maintenance of departmental computers. These products, including the "CAEN Enhanced Vendor Operating System Load" and several Service Level Agreement add-on subscription offerings, allow CoE faculty and staff to take advantage of the up to date technology and services that CAEN has developed for its lab environment.

CAEN recently simplified and renamed these products. The new products center on a CAEN Operating Environment (COE) installation that provides a safe and secure operating system that is consistent with the College environment. A COE installation includes the most recent security and anti-virus updates, AFS, selected licensed software provided by the hardware vendor, and additional campus site-licensed software. The CAEN Operating Environment (COE) is available for the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, RedHat Linux 7.2, and Sun Solaris 8. CAEN is working on a version for Mac OS X.

CAEN also offers several add-on subscription services:
