Recently two of CAEN’s student staff members Deena Tin and Laura Slavicek, participated in the 6th International Submarine Races. Laura and Deena are both members of the University fo Michigan’s Human Powered Submarine Team. In the competition, which was held on June 11-15 at the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, they placed first among two-person submarines. The team also placed third for innovation in the design of their submarine, Neptune.

Deena works in the CAEN Office, while Laura is part of the operations team at CAEN.
