What is Mediasite?
Mediasite, by Sonic Foundry, is a suite of applications that allows one to webcast presentations or lectures over the Internet for live or on-demand access. It goes beyond simple PowerPoint to capture and integrate a wide range of visual content including smart boards, document cameras, digital photography, and graphics tablets:
- Train, brief or teach using any video and digital presentation source while Mediasite records and synchronizes your audio, video and slides.
- Distribute your recording online for people to watch at their convenience (live in real-time or later on-demand), or automatically create an audio podcast for your listeners.
- Customize, catalog, search and secure your library of presentations.

Are there any special settings needed to view presentations on an Intel-based Mac?
Windows Media Player for Mac must be run under Rosetta emulation on Intel-based Macs. As such, the browser must also be forced to run under Rosetta as well. To enable Rosetta emulation, follow these steps:
- Close all open browser windows.
- Select Go > Applications.
- Right-click or Ctrl-click your browser icon (e.g. Safari or Firefox), and select Get Info.
- In the General section, check Open using Rosetta.
Now, the next time the web browser is launched, it will run under Rosetta emulation and presentations should play back.
