The CAEN Service Center only accepts repairs for Apple hardware. The Service Center no longer repairs Hewlett-Packard (HP) printers. If you have an HP printer that requires service, you should contact the HP directly, or take your printer to a third-party repair center.

Contacting Hewlett-Packard

If your HP printer is under warranty, you can call HP at 1-800-474-6836, or contact HP online, with any questions you may have about obtaining service or ordering replacement parts for your printer. HP also offers a convenient online service locator to help you find an authorized HP support provider near you. In either case, you must have your printer's serial number to request service.

Third-party Options

BPI Information Systems - In Ann Arbor, there are a number of companies that service and support HP printers. One particular company that is widely used by departments on campus, including the Medical Center, is BPI (http://www.bpiis.com/).  BPI can provide both on-site and drop-off repair, and they are an authorized HP support provider.

To contact BPI, call 1-800-258-4343 and select option #1. They will need to know your printer's service tag/serial number to determine your warranty status and type. You should verify if there will be any charges, and get an estimate before having any service performed. CAEN has been told they have a special University of Michigan Labor Rate for both departmental and personal machines.

Mikan Corporation - The University of Michigan has a contract with Mikan Corporation as a Strategic Supplier for laser printer service, re-manufactured and OEM toner cartridges. More information can be found on the U-M purchasing page at: http://www.procurement.umich.edu/
