Reserving a Lab

Several CAEN computer labs are available for reservation by College of Engineering faculty for course-related instructional use. All reservation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

CAEN labs have varying degrees of capabilities and instructional technology equipment. A comprehensive list of labs, equipment, capacity, and other details has been compiled as the CAEN Lab Comparison Chart. To request a reservation, click the button below for the online CAEN Lab Reservation Request Form. You can also call the CAEN Hotline (734-764-CAEN), Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and a consultant will submit a request for you.

CAEN Lab Reservation Request Form

General Rules

  • CAEN labs are available for reservation Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • College of Engineering faculty and faculty-sponsored graduate student instructors can submit reservation requests for course-related instructional use. Note that the CAEN labs should not be reserved for course-related office hours.  Staff can also submit reservation requests for Engineering-related training sessions.  Both one-time and reoccurring reservation requests can be submitted.
  • Reservations should be made with as much advance notice as possible (at least 24 hours) to better accommodate drop-in usage.
  • Reservations can be made for part, or all, of a CAEN lab. Please choose this option appropriately in the CAEN Lab Reservation Request Form. Please take into account that CAEN does not supply extra seats or equipment.
  • The Engineering department where the CAEN lab is physically located may have negotiated special scheduling requirements and lab restrictions. Reservations need to meet these special requirements and restrictions (see below).
