Check-in for residentital students takes place at Bursley Residence Hall on the first Sunday of your session between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be served that evening.
All instruction is on North Campus within walking distance of the residence hall. The classrooms and labs are located in the Pierpont Commons, the Duderstadt Center, and several Engineering buildings. If you are arriving by train, bus, or plane, please refer to the Travel and Housing Information page.
You may bring a desktop or laptop computer to camp if you wish. Please do not leave your computer unattended. Camp CAEN will not be held responsible for lost or stolen computers. If you are bringing your own computer to camp, please remember to bring an Ethernet cable for access to the network in the dorm. Wireless is available throughout the rest of North Campus, but not in the dorm.

On the first Monday of each two-week session, check-in takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. in the Gallery located on the connector between the Duderstadt Center and the Pierpont Commons on North Campus (see NC Map. NOTE: Check-in for Sessions 1B, 2B, and 3B will take place in the lower level computer classrooms of Pierpont Commons.
Each morning after the first day, students should report directly to their classroom by 8:30 a.m. For early arrivals, a staff member will be on duty in the main level lobby of Pierpont Commons at 8:00 a.m to supervise. If your student needs to arrive earlier than 8:00 a.m. and requires supervision, you will need to make special arrangements with the Camp Director.
Activities for day students end at 5:00 p.m. daily. If you need to leave before 5:00 p.m. on any day, please have your parents send signed written notification to the Camp Office or send email to campcaen@umich.edu. If someone other than a parent will be picking up a child from camp at any time, a signed Leave Form must be submitted to the CAEN Office.
All instruction is within walking distance of the Duderstadt Center on North Campus. The classrooms and labs are in the Pierpont Commons, the Duderstadt Center, and several of the Engineering buildings. Students will be supervised by Camp CAEN counselors at all times during camp hours.
Metered parking is available in the Art and Architecture building parking lot that is lot NC43 on the North Campus Parking Map. Prior to the start of camp, campers can purchase a parking permit for the duration of camp. If you would like to purchase your parking permit prior to the start of the camp, you can do this at the main desk of Bursley Hall between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the Friday or Sunday before the start of camp.
Commuter campers can be picked up from the Circle Drive at Pierpont Commons on North Campus at 5:00 p.m. each day except the last Friday. If your student will be picked up by someone other than a parent, you will need to submit a Camp CAEN Leave Form to the camp office. Camp ends at noon on the last Friday after the Open House.
