Financial Aid
The University of Michigan Office of Financial Aid administers a comprehensive program of federal, state, and institutional aid. Undergraduate students who believe they will need assistance in order to attend U-M are encouraged to apply to determine eligibility for need-based financial aid. The Office of Financial Aid determines eligibility for Grant, Work Study, and Student Loan assistance. Also, parents of undergraduate students that are interested in applying for the parent PLUS Loan program, can do so through the Office of Financial Aid. The Office of Financial Aid website is also an excellent resource for locating external funding sources.
Graduate students are considered for the Student Loan and Work-Study programs when they apply for financial aid through the University of Michigan Office of Financial Aid. Private or alternative loan sources are also available, but students must apply for these programs separately.
