The Engineering Alumni Society was established in 1985 to enhance the relationship between the College of Engineering, Alumni of the College, and the professional fields represented, thereby encouraging the excellence of the College and its graduates. Its purpose is:

1. To stimulate among its members an enduring interest in the College of Engineering and the University of Michigan.

2. To encourage a continual flow of outstanding applicants to the College of Engineering, contribute toward their financial needs while enrolled, and assist in the placement of graduates.

3. To educate its members to the problems and progress of the College of Engineering and the engineering profession, thus enabling the members to assist in advancing engineering programs.

4. To help University faculty and staff to meet College of Engineering and University of Michigan needs for financial support from public and private sources.

5. To foster fellowship and strengthen ties among alumni, students and faculty of the College of Engineering.
