Assuring Michigan's Knowledge-Based Workforce : A Summit on Diversity + Opportunity in K-16+ Engineering Education
In Michigan's emerging knowledge-based economy, we'll need innovative engineers-a diverse group of the best and brightest creative thinkers and problem solvers from across the state.
But the pipeline-especially for women and underrepresented minorities-is not in place. What can we do to ensure that our next generation of engineers is well-educated, diverse and prepared to lead Michigan into the future?
Be a part of the leadership that will solve this crisis.
Join industry, U-M and other educational innovators as we explore the issue, examine our progress and plan for the future at this landmark event.

The University of Michigan College of Engineering would like to cordially invite you to the Diversity Summit. The Diversity Summit will bring together the broad engineering community including faculty, staff, students, peer institutions, government, and industry partners to discuss how Michigan universities can create engineers who are better prepared to face the global challenges of the 21st century. The keynote speaker will be Charles Vest, former President of MIT. The Diversity Summit events include afternoon workshops to allow networking and discussion of key diversity topics with other industry partners. There will also be a reception for industry representatives the evening before the Diversity Summit.
