Support Breeds Outstanding Education, Research and Service

Support Breeds Outstanding Education, Research and ServiceMichigan Engineering's tradition of providing quality education and innovative research relies, in large part, on the activity and reputation of its faculty. Although the College consistently ranks among the top engineering institutions nationwide, it must continue its efforts to fund professorships and Endowed Professorships Chairattract the best educators available.

One source of funding is endowed professorships. Appointment to an endowed professorship is reserved for an individual of national or international stature who has established a distinguished record of service and scholarship.

In fiscal year 2003, Michigan Engineering received $139 million in support of its research. And institutions outside of the College are able to benefit from contemporary research that otherwise might not be available if it weren't for Michigan Engineering facilities and the expertise of its faculty.
