This issue of the Michigan Engineer features a new size and look for the magazine. The College, through its Media & Marketing office, recently conducted a telephone survey of over 300 alumni selected randomly from a population of over 50,000 alums. Based on what they shared with us, the College has trimmed down the magazine’s size to make it more “user friendly,” and over the next several issues, we will be introducing some new content elements. What’s most popular? You’ve told us how much you like to read about the history of the College and about successful alumni, so look for more of these types of articles in future issues. Respondents also told us that they want more balance in news and research briefs from among the College’s 11 departments. The Fall/Winter 2000 issue will have an article that provides the statistical information gathered in the survey as well as more on the Engineer’s plans for content changes. A special thank-you to those alumni who participated in the survey. Your time and opinions have helped us find ways to improve our communications with the entire Michigan Engineering family.
