    After a recent tour of duty in Iraq with the Navy Special Forces, Chris Hart enrolled in Michigan Engineering's master's/PhD program in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. The Navy since has awarded him the Bronze Star Medal with Valor. MORE>>

  • 15 Alums to Receive Alumni Society Awards
    NSF Director Arden L. Bement, Jr. (PhD '63, Alumni Society Medal), Arbor Networks co-founder G. Robert Malan (MSE '96, PhD '00, Recent Engineering Graduate Award) and Procter & Gamble Vice President Robert D. Scott (BSE ECE '75, Distinguished Service Award) are among 15 alumni who will be honored with Alumni Society Awards during Alumni Weekend, Oct.26-28.
  • NASA Spotlights Jim McDivitt
    Jim McDivitt (BSE AA '59, ScD Hon. '65), command pilot of Gemini 4 and commander of Apollo 9, received the Ambassador of Exploration Award from NASA at a ceremony in the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Building on campus. The Award recognizes astronauts from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs.
