Short Bio

Charla K. Wise is a senior executive who has served in the capacity of Vice President with Lockheed Martin for over 10 years, with more than 25 years in the aerospace and manufacturing industry. She is a leader at the national level for aerospace and technical associations, has received numerous awards recognizing her leadership and contributions, has provided input to academia through industry advisory board participation, is actively involved in mentoring and diversity programs, and leads numerous community volunteer programs. As Adjunct Professor of Aerospace Engineering of the University of Michigan , she offers expertise and experiences in management and strategic vision to help broaden the department’s activities and educational mission.

As Vice President of Technology - Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) she works across the corporation to integrate the ESH requirements into product development and design, with the goal of reducing hazardous materials from products and processes. She partners with engineering and the Chief Technology Office, as well as business units. She also serves as Program Manager for the Corporate LM21 Executive Steering Committee, chartered to enable and implement flawless execution throughout Lockheed Martin Corporation.

While vice president and program director F-22 program in Fort Worth , Ms. Wise led the team of 1800+ team members during the design, build and test portion of initial F-22 aircraft. Ms. Wise served as vice president of engineering, with more than 8,000 personnel in the engineering workforce homed into the engineering department. She led engineering through LM Aero’s consolidation of three separate companies into one company, to support the Joint Strike Fighter program and other Lockheed Martin programs, creating the LM Aero Technical Fellows Program, and formulating the LM Aero Technical Institute.
