Research Faculty Consulting
In the College of Engineering, a research faculty member holding a 100% appointment may consult up to four days per month, on average, or forty-eight days during the calendar year. Because research faculty are normally paid on sponsored research accounts, consulting will usually be done on vacation time or weekends since it is not usually permitted to bill a sponsor and another agent for the same time. For those cases where the research faculty member is paid from General Fund accounts, consulting during regular hours will be negotiated with their supervisor and approved by the ADR. For additional information regarding the College of Engineering's Research Faculty Consulting Policy, please refer to Chapter 7 of the College's Research Faculty Handbook and Appendices.
