Fellowship Opportunities
Advanced Study Program (ASP) by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Postdoctoral Fellowships
The postdoctoral program provides an opportunity for recent PhD scientists to continue to pursue their research interests in atmospheric and related sciences.
- Award: Successful applicants currently receive a stipend of $48,500 in the first year, and $50,500 in the second year. These stipends are adjusted annually in June based on surveys of like institutions. All appointees are eligible for life and health insurance. Travel expenses to NCAR will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $1000 for the fellow and his or her family. Reimbursement will include either one-way Federal Mileage allowance (currently .445/mile) or one-way Airfare. Fellows living abroad will have round-trip travel for themselves and their families paid up to a maximum of $2,500. An allowance of $750. for moving and storing personal belongings is provided. Scientific travel and registration fees that cost up to $1,500/year are normally available.

U.S. Department of Energy Office of Fusion Energy Sciences Fusion Energy Postdoctoral Research Program
Administered by Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for one year, renewable for a second year. Appointments are for full-time research at host facility.

Sandia National Laboratories Truman Fellowship
The fellowship provides the opportunity for recipients to pursue independent research of their own choosing that supports the national security mission of Sandia. The appointee is expected to foster creativity and to stimulate exploration of forefront science and technology and high-risk, potentially high-value R&D.
