Dual Career Positions

Once a position is worked out for a partner, it is the responsibility of the unit hiring the partner to proceed as if this were a regular hire.  Any funding arrangements for the partner should not be discussed with the partner or the primary recruit.  The following procedures should be followed:
  • If the position for the partner was created, a waiver of posting must be secured from the Provost's office.
  • An offer letter should be drafted and approved by the Coordinator of Academic Affairs.  A copy of the signed letter/acceptance should be forwarded to both the Coordinator of Academic Affairs and the Director of Dual Career Services.
  • Once a signed offer/acceptance letter is in hand, the Dual Career Director will provide the letter to the Provost for generation of a commitment memo for the department outlining the terms of the funding agreement and contact information.
