Keegan grew up in Indiana where he attended high school at Culver Military Academy. He completed his undergraduate education at the United States Naval Academy where he earned a commission as a Marine Corps Officer. He is currently a second year student of the Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles Program with research interests in autonomy and perception. Upon earning his master's, Keegan will return to the Marine Corps.

Outside of academics, Keegan enjoys attending Michigan athletic events, especially hockey games as he grew up playing the sport. He spends his free time enjoying his recent marriage to Kathleen Kinkade, a second year medical student at the University of Michigan.
