2009 Engineering Graduate Symposium

Friday, November 13, 2009

The Engineering Graduate Symposium is a college-wide event focusing on doctoral and master's programs and graduate student research. This program is open to all College of Engineering current undergraduate and graduate students as well as prospective graduate engineering students from other institutions. The day-long program features the following opportunities for students:

  • Poster and oral presentations
  • Departmental visitations
  • Admissions and funding workshops
  • Networking with graduate students
  • Featured speakers

New and current graduate students will be exposed to the breadth and depth of the research being pursued across the College of Engineering. It gives new students assistance in finding a research advisor. It also gives current graduate students an opportunity to give a technical presentation, which may be good practice for a conference, job interview, or preliminary exam. Monetary awards are given for the best presentations and posters.

Prospective graduate engineering students will have the opportunity to attend the College's premier on-campus visitation program. This includes touring departments and research labs, interacting with faculty, staff, and current graduate students, and talking to your peers from across the country. Along with admission and funding workshops students can also attend presentations and poster sessions on current graduate students' research.
